Other Mother

My Coraline "Other Mother" costume is my favorite costume I've had in awhile.

"There's only one little thing we have to do."
It turned a little steampunk/Edward Scissorhands, but I still kinda love it.
I want to wear this skirt every day.

It doesn't hurt a bit.
Not bad for $20 and a little handsewing. Oh, this is the "before" of the skirt.

Just chopped off the top and turned it into a skirt.

Don't you want to join me?
(thanks to Mr. Gaiman for such a fantastic character!)

Love the costume! I'll have to get creative about mine. Have the face make up ready, just not sure about the cloths to go with it.

Thanks, everyone! I was pretty happy with it. I'm ready to go wash my hair now.

Love it!!! I was wondering what you were going to do about your hair, lol. My sister dyed her platinum blonde hair black to be Pocahontas when she was like 7 and it was grey for a week.

Yeah, I'm a little worried about it. Oh well.

Daphne, your costume is fantastic! Your hair looks great and I must say your lipstick is perfectly applied. What fun! What did your co-workers think?

Lara: thanks! I thought the book was much creepier, but the movie was good too.

Simbelmyne: I sent him a message on his website, hopefully he'll have time to pop over here and take a look!

Stef: thanks! (I take pride in my lipstick application!) My co-workers loved it -- those that had seen the movie knew exactly who I was, which was fun. I won second place in our contest -- lost out to "Julia Child" and her rubber chicken. Dang! :)

thank you, everyone! It was pretty fun to put together and wear. If only I had the perfect black wig and didn't have to spray my hair black...

I came from Gaiman's blog.
Congratulations for your classy and truly scary fantasy!

Wow, this is amazingly well done.

The eyes are perfectly emotionless.

Nice choice of dress too. The high neck makes you seem really rigid and unattached.

Makeup wise? Perfect. Very pale, and attractive, but somehow cold and distant.
