Now she's taking care of a phone call, I'm making chocolate chip cookies (I don't actually love CCC's, but they are comforting because my mom always made them, so I'll eat a couple and then the folks at work will have a heyday on the rest.), and am going to curl up on the couch with the new Oprah mag.
In spite of having a sad and mopey day, I have found quite a few things to be grateful for:
- Our trauma from the past apartment seems to be passing. There are some noisy people on the street outside the kitchen window tonight, and although it's sort of distracting, it isn't raising my blood pressure like it used to.
- Of course that Terri is home!!
- My wonderful boss and coworker Shea, who is always willing to take a break (for a Long's run, a craft store run, grocery store, office supply store, anything). Sometimes it's a life-saver!
- Coffee and hot chocolate mixed together (it's my workday version of a mocha when I can't stay awake in the afternoon)
- And really, so many things.
It sucks sometimes, but really, life is good.
