Best Birthday Ever

It's my 33rd birthday! Lordy. How did this happen?

No matter. We spent the day in the best possible way. Got up early, had a lovely breakfast of yogurt, honey and figs. Then we went to the city. First stop: Conservatory of Flowers.

Amazing orchids to be seen there.

Then we went over to the Dahlia Garden, where Terri took a ton of amazing photos. We are definitely going to have some of these framed for our house.

Then we went over to the de Young museum. We had a terrific lunch at the cafe, and looked at the photo exhibit I was interested in, as well as the Nan Kempner fashion exhibit, and a few other exhibits. Then we headed over to the Legion of Honor (since it was free admission with the de Young ticket stub).

Then, we went to the beach for a little bit. This photo was taken by timer. Pretty good, considering I had to dash down the stairs and through sand to get there in time.

Now we are home, and there is a double-crust apple pie (with cheddar cheese in the crust) in the oven, and real Alfredo sauce with lemon-pepper pasta and broccoli on the way, and Moonstruck and Rushmore to be watched.

Birthdays don't get much better than this. Terri, you're the best birthday-maker ever.
