Woke up nice and lazy today - no critters to care for except for my own starving, vocal kitties! We're taking the slow boat to the day... It's 11:15 and we have done nothing except drink fancy coffee and look at dressers for Terri. Nice.
Today, there are a million things that need to be done. However, its' also the first day of our favorite season, and a beautiful one, at that. So what are we actually going to do? A few necessesities. And then, whatever the heck we feel like. Maybe some house-y things (clean the bathroom, set up stereo, hang some pictures). Maybe not (take a walk, take a nap, work on creative stuff). Do some laundry. Or not.
Basically, I'm refusing to worry about it. It's an effort (especially when there's a full load of laundry staring me in the face), but we only have a few more weekends left together (before Terri goes back to working weekend days) and the house can manage on its own until then. I'll be sooooo sad to not have her around during the day on weekends. The past six months have been anything but fun, but it has been nice to spend so much time together. But, hopefully it's only a temporary transition before she finds the next Best Thing. A happy side note: Kaiser said they were very sorry for her continued back problems, but that she should definitely reapply next year if she wants. So, not passing up the opportunity; only delaying it. That's good.
Cleo the cat must have about a million lives, not just nine. We keep finding her completely 'dead'.. sprawled out across the floor, draped over furniture, completely unaware of us in the room. It's sorta funny. Terri reports how many times per day Cleo has 'died.'
And now, off to start this wonderful first day of fall.
