Lately my painting has been sitting, half-done, on the table. Not sure why I haven't finished it. I guess I'm waiting to feel like I know what to do with this weird tall shape the canvas is.
Lately I have been in a weird reading mood. I feel like reading biographies. This is completely unlike me. I never read biographies, and I've just read three in as many weeks. Weird.
Lately I have been listening to NPR. This is so ABSOLUTELY completely unlike me (me, who hates talk radio of any sort -- I just can't stand the droning). I suspect body-snatching.
Lately I have been cooking more. This feels good. Summer drains me. Fall rejuvenates me.
Lately I have been feeling -- dare I say it -- optimistic? A few months ago I felt like I had forgotten what that emotion felt like. Now I feel this vague but pleasant sense of hope and faith that things are fine. It's nice. But perhaps another result of body-snatching.

Lately I have been really wanting a little scooter for commuting. Well, I've always wanted one, but lately I've been seriously lobbying for one. The Other One In Charge remains unconvinced, but we're still talking about it.
Lately I have been laughing at this video. My favorite part, "WAS!!" (for best viewing, start it then pause it while it loads)

*gasps for air* LMAO... that is so FUNNY! We have three cats so I know that weird rowl sound before a fight. That is just too stinkin funny that they narrated it like that. FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!! bwah ha ha ha ha
Heh, that was funny. I have a friend who has a scooter. She named it Seabiscuit and likes it very much (except in winter). They make me nervous though, so easy to get hit by a car. If you get one be sure to always wear a good helmet!
i love stuff like this. of course now all the animals in my house are freaking looking for the fighting cat.
as a side note, the other day i sat for 10 minutes and watched a video of a puppy trying to roll over.
also....i hate talk radio too. i used to listen to air america but could really only do about 1/2 an hour at a time.
jay sometimes listens to ball games on the radio. i find them to throw me in to a full on sensory overload. between the announcers, and the crowd there are just way too many competeing sounds and listening to it is very overwhelming to me.
Jim votes in favor of a scooter. I'm with Stefanie - SOOO easy to get hit! Mommy
I'm with the Mommy and Stephanie-too easy to get hit.
The Other One in Charge
I agree with Mommy, Stephanie, and The Other One In Charge. Scooters are not safe.
God
man you go to church once and all of a sudden God starts reading your blog!? im impressed.
Barefoot: I know, we laughed out loud at it.
Stefanie: of course! Helmet and full protective gear!
Tammie: Right? I'm pretty impressed about the customer service I'm seeing (although I wish God would maybe just make it safer for scooter-riders, instead of siding with the opposition!) :)
Everyone Else: :(
(just kidding. I know you love me and just want me to be safe!)
