That Kind Of A Night

It's that's kind of a night.

When you buy Safeway's Tomato Bisque Soup even though it's overpriced and oversalted (but really yummy).

When you buy a giant loaf of sourdough bread.

And chocolate biscuits.

And come home and stare blankly into space and try to remember what you were going to do next.

And realize that there is nothing -- nothing -- that you can do, except quit. Just for now. Quit.

(I have this whole theory that sometimes, you just have to quit. Quit for five minutes, quit for the night, quit for a week. Just quit. You don't even need to figure out when you're going to start again. Just quit. So that's what I'm doing.)

So. Back to the chair, the big fuzzy blanket, my brainless book. It's windy and cold outside, my head is in a fog, and I can't focus on anything. So. More stuff later.

After a chocolate biscuit. Or two. Or four.

Hi Daphne, Thank you for visitng my blog, so that I could discover yours!

Appreciate learning another word to add to stop,rest,surrender... "quit". I like "You don't even need to figure out when you're going to start again." I find when I finally let my body "quit" it let's me know when it's ready to take up a bit again.

Your "quitting time" set up sounds so cozy...and the chocolate biscuits, yum. Isn't it funny how blankets, easy reading material and comfort foods become staples in our lives with chronic illness?

Eva: It's the perfect evening!

Kerry: thanks for coming by! Yes, sometimes you just have to let your body tell you when it's okay to start going again. :)

Tammie: It was!

Kate: That is the best soup. I've tried to replicate it, but I think I ended up being shocked by how much cream was in it, so I haven't tried it again. I just buy it and don't look at the label. :)

Yeah, I intentionally didn't look at the label for a very long time. Sheesh.
