Perfect Morning

After making the rounds of pets and stopping in at a local sporting goods store to take advantage of an amazing sale (loading up on warmies!), I came home all set to create a perfect morning. Well, late-morning. Here is what I did:

1. Turned on all the heaters and made a fire
2. Turned on the oven to preheat
3. Finally put away my cookbooks (which now look adorable in the kitchen)
4. Made amazing cinnamon-buttermilk muffins
5. Put on new comfy warmies and socks and slippers
6. Made wonderful Peet's Holiday Blend tea
7. Snuggled down into comfy chair, next to the tree, with tea and muffin and book
8. Sighed deeply and said a small prayer of thankfulness

Perfect.

I have list of projects as long as my arm (or maybe even twice as long), but the list of essential projects (those necessary to make the house feel roughly finished) is getting much shorter. I am completely in love with my little kitchen. We got another heater for the living room so it's not so frigid.

Things are good.

I'm going to be compiling a final list of the year, all the "bests". Today might be "best winter morning."

That really does sound perfect. Just reading about it made me a little happier :)
