It's Flu Season!

Yes, yes it is. Apparently that is what has had me in its grips all week, and continues to, today. Yuck. I feel crappy, even after four solid days of doing nothing but sitting on the couch or laying down. I am supposed to get a flu shot but the bug didn't give me time! I wonder if I should still get one, after having the flu already?

Anyway. One interesting side effect of this particular bug has been that my head is so dizzy from sinus pressure/inner ear pressure, that it has effectively washed away my usual filter. As in that nice societal filter that governs all the niceties that helps you get along in everyday life. I feel like picking a fight with everybody, although I'm not in a particularly bad mood. I've had to shuffle to the store a couple of times (Terri is feeling particularly bad right now too) and each time, it seems like a miracle that I haven't rammed someone's cart or backed into someone's car or made a pointed remark about this being the TWELVE ITEMS LINE, YES YOU WITH THE FULL CART. (it's a good thing I've pretty much lost my voice at this point)

At home I'm doing pretty well, except for that one crying jag at midnight a few nights ago, prompted by, oh, sitting up in bed. Cry, cry cry. Lots of Kleenex being used. Mostly I'm just trying to keep my nose in a book. I'm afraid of what I might say, before I even know I'm saying it.

So, I'm trying to keep my non-book blog posts short, or nonexistent (this one, apparently, excepted... see my point?). It's sort of amusing to watch, as if from afar, what my id wants to do when sick. But it's not very nice to deal with the aftermath, so I'm trying to keep a lid on it.

I kind of like this feisty side of you! Too bad it required being sick. However, with a little practice, you could seriously be rockin' and rollin' the new "Get Outta My Way Plan." I like it!

Hope you're starting to feel better. Finally. :)

Cupcake: thanks! It's fun to be feisty. It's fun to be crabby, too -- but not so much for the people around me...

Nymeth: I hope YOU are, too!
