That would be: fresh homemade bread, yellow mustard, and pre-sliced cheese.
All set out and ready for me when I got home from a crummy day.
Ready to be turned into a fantastic grilled-cheese sandwich.
My sweetie is the best sweetie ever, ever ever.
Ever.
I had a crummy day today, for no particular reason. Also, it was freezing at work, freezing after work doing errands, and freezing in my class. And freezing in the parking lot. I was cold and rigid all day. Too many meetings, a very long class. Etc.
I came home, ready to have a tantrum. Or at the very least, grump around the house until it was time for bed.
Instead, I walked in to the scent of fresh-baked bread, a super-clean kitchen and living room, and a fridge full of sandwich-making supplies. My sweetie, who does not actually have the available energy to do this, cleaned the house and went to the grocery store because she anticipated that I would be too tired and uninspired to make dinner, and who wants to come home to a messy house?
I cried. I actually cried, because this was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. She anticipated that I would need care, without me even saying so -- she went totally out of her way to get special supplies for one of my favorite meals, made bread, made sure the house would be in order.
I took a hot shower (with my new super-girly shower gel), got into jammies, and made myself the best grilled-cheese sandwich ever. And ate it in the living room, with my sweetie.
And that, folks, is real love.

You eat your grilled cheese with mustard too? I thought Ryan was the only weirdo who did that!
