Wildest Dreams

OK, so while I’m busy taking care of myself (so far that's included such things as included letting myself complain a lot, eating some cookies, wearing super-comfy shoes and NOT buying something because it wasn’t exactly the right thing, sleeping in, starting a budget spreadsheet, doing some weights exercises, making nachos exactly the way we each like them, and only doing two loads of laundry), I was thinking about Wildest Dreams. Sometimes I think I’m not dreaming big enough. I read about this Mondo Beyondo concept: basically, it’s writing down your wildest dreams, things you think you might want but maybe have never even let yourself think them through, they’re so radical or big. Here’s a few of mine:
  1. Own a big, gorgeous house with at least two acres, lots of trees, a big front porch, 4 bedrooms and a large open gourmet kitchen. Also, it has a separate art studio a little ways away from the house, a small fish pond, and really great neighbors.
  2. Have two dogs and three cats and two kids and two cars and lots of bikes.
  3. Travel regularly to Europe as part of what I do for a living. And be able to take my family.
  4. Have my art shown regularly in galleries and earn a living off it (this one is so hard for me. I’m like, show WHAT art? Oh, you mean that art I’m NOT creating?)
  5. Build a tree house with multiple levels. A really good treehouse that keeps the rain out and that you could sleep in if you wanted.
  6. Have so much money that I actually have to find ways to spend it or give it away.
  7. Have a small, quaint perfect vacation home at the beach or in the mountains.
  8. Be relieved of ‘lack-worry’. Not have to worry about not having enough money, or cars breaking down, or having no kids, or no home, etc. If I have to worry, please make it ‘abundance-worry’. What to do with all this money, all this success, all these opportunities.
  9. Be able to direct my own days exactly as I need or want.
  10. Live in a place that feels like home, that I never want to move away from.

That's a pretty good start. Here's one more:

11. Open a successful coffeeshop/bakery/art space/bookstore that becomes the little town or neighborhood's epicenter of local culture and community.

Today is Super Bowl Sunday. The only reason I am even aware of this is because Terri's team is playing. While she is getting her fill of football, I will be doing some creative stuff of my own while cozying up with her. Plans for today also include a walk or jog, some cookie-eating, finishing up a few projects, and getting Terri ready for her first week staying up in Santa Rosa.

And maybe some more daydreaming about my wildest dreams.
