And of course all the other good stuff about non-processed food, etc. It's all a process but my goodness, it's interesting how off-track the majority of America is, and from the very top down!Daphnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15394393707234499156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28671830.post-78479046583449946622008-08-14T17:00:00.000-07:002008-08-14T17:00:00.000-07:00I love Michael Pollan and really enjoyed this book...I love Michael Pollan and really enjoyed this book. What he says makes so much sense and I have changed the way I look at food since then. I often fell into the nutritionism trap especially since I am vegan and I have to make sure I get all of the vitamins and what not that I need. But in reality I eat better than the majority of non-vegans I know when I look at the big picture. It's all so twisted, isn't it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28671830.post-23124664315161454832008-08-14T09:32:00.000-07:002008-08-14T09:32:00.000-07:00Corn syrup is bad because it completely bypasses a...Corn syrup is bad because it completely bypasses any sort of slow-absporption function in your body and directly hits your bloodstream, causing huge highs and lows in blood sugar levels. This is bad for your body in all kinds of ways. Also, your body has no way of moderating levels of corn syrup (since it's not a natural food) so you just want more and more; you never register as 'done'. Here's what sfgate.com has to say about it:<BR/>http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2004/02/18/FDGS24VKMH1.DTLDaphnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15394393707234499156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28671830.post-10457696941866835902008-08-13T22:26:00.000-07:002008-08-13T22:26:00.000-07:00Why exactly is corn syrup so bad for you?
