It and Bones of the Moon are books of his that I really enjoyed. I had a few issues with Ghost in Love. I'd probably suggest Bones as the next one myself, but then again I liked Land of Laughs (they are utterly different books though).

It is interesting how different books will just stick with you long after you've put them down. Some of the books I read made my best of list, in place of books I rated higher, just because they would not let me go, even months afterward.Carl V. It was half interesting and half mind-numbingly boring. :) I love it: "... it might not get here before, you know, I MOVE TO ENGLAND." :)

Ana: Two goals for you next year -- read Enchanted April and watch Buffy!!! If your book-buying ban continues on and you can't find Let The Right One In, let me know and I'll send it to you!

Tammie: I know what you mean. I thought I didn't love The Graveyard Book, but I keep thinking about it, so I think actually I was just in the wrong frame of mind when I read it. And I agree -- reading should definitely be about enjoyment!

Stefanie: Enchanted April was SO MUCH FUN. I loved it. You know, I didn't *not* like Wizard of Earthsea, but I didn't love it. I liked the dragon. I think it just felt a little flat for me, which was disappointing since I really wanted to love it!Daphnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15394393707234499156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28671830.post-36720121437949099892009-12-29T08:22:19.687-08:002009-12-29T08:22:19.687-08:00Enchanted April was a wonderfully delightful read,...Enchanted April was a wonderfully delightful read, wasn't it? I was surprised at how much I loved it. And how did I miss that you didn't like the Wizard of Earthsea? (although the boy loved it.) but the weird thing is, from time to time i find myself thinking about it, or just remembering certain parts...so maybe i liked it more than i thought i did. i think maybe when i started reading it, i was expecting something else and when my expectations werent met, i immediately assumed i hated it, which i guess wasnt the case.

my reading goal for the next year is pretty loose too. i want to challenge myself a bit but i still want to enjoy reading. there's a balance i need to find.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28671830.post-80910860119872143782009-12-29T04:33:40.295-08:002009-12-29T04:33:40.295-08:00I can't believe I still haven't read The E...I can't believe I still haven't read The Enchanted April! Also - we at my job make fun of the short title: longer explanatory title conundrum in the museum world. We have been known to refer to exhibitions as "Disquieted: What, No Subtitle?" in memos.Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09314153391153507955noreply@blogger.com
